PRESENT CONTINUOUS

We use the PRESENT CONTINUOUS to express that something is happening at the moment we are speaking.

FORM

SUBJECT + VERB TO BE + -ING VERB

                I          AM         WRITING

Examples: I am playing football.    He is studying now.   We are running.

QUESTIONS

Are you playing the guitar?  Is she cooking dinner?  Are they watching TV?

NEGATIVE FORM
You are not studying.   We are not listening to music.

We use the present continuous to talk about activities happening around now. ( My students are studying really hard for their next English exam.)

It is also used to talking about near future: We are going to Valencia to watch "Las Fallas"
