SAY, TELL, ASK


SIMPLE PAST

Use simple past when talking about actions finished in the past: I visited my grandma last Sunday.
SIGNAL WORDS: Yesterday, last week, in 1999, last month, last year, a week ago...
FORM: regular verbs add -ed.
Learn the rules of spelling
Irregular verbs: I'm sorry! You have to learn them by heart.

We use the PRESENT CONTINUOUS to express that something is happening at the moment we are speaking.
 
FORM
 
SUBJECT + VERB TO BE + -ING VERB
 
                I          AM         WRITING
 
Examples: I am playing football.    He is studying now.   We are running.
